Pedro d'Orey

Pedro M. d'Orey received the BSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto, Portugal, in 2004, the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications from the Queen Mary University of London, London, U.K., in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications from the Universities of Porto, Aveiro and Minho, in 2014.
He is currently a Research Scientist at CISTER, ISEP, Portugal. Previously, he was a Research Scientist at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal, and an Invited Assistant Professor with the University of Porto. He was also a Research Scientist in the area of Intelligent Transportation Systems with NEC Laboratories Europe, Germany, and an R&D Engineer in the area of mobile communications. He actively participated in several national (e.g. Mobiwise), international (e.g. CMUPortugal S2MovingCity) and European projects (e.g. TEAM, MobiNet). He has been a TPC member, Associate Editor and organizer of several international conferences and workshops (e.g. IEEE VNC, IEEE ITSC), and a reviewer of several journals (e.g. IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems). His current research interests include automated vehicles, wireless communications, machine learning and intelligent transportation systems. Three of his papers received the Best Paper Award, namely at the IEEE VTC Spring 2014 and at IEEE VNC 2014.
