Abdulhakeem Abdulrahman
Abdulhakeem Abdulrahman is a student researcher at CISTER Labs and a currently enrolled Ph.D. Student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, starting from February 2021.
He pursues research at the intersection of cyber-physical systems and machine learning - the enabling technologies for the Internet of Things that transforms the interactions of physical systems and computational resources into values that influence lives and businesses. Specifically, his interests include distributed real-time systems, safety-critical autonomous systems, smart mobility, and deep reinforcement learning.
Before joining CISTER, Abdulhakeem graduated summa cum laude in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2015 from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. As a software engineer with specialization and a particular interest in edge AI, he has over five-year cross-functional team experience. Recently, he was a consultant for start-ups, especially on AutoML for Telepath AI Inc., developing tools and techniques that democratize ML for non-experts. He was with Cyberspace Ltd., where he designed and developed social cognitive platforms. He is an alumnus of the Udacity Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program.
