Human Sensing in Smart Cities: An Experimental PerspectiveCISTER, Porto, Portugal
ABSTRACT:
In this talk, we firstly present SenseFlow, a lightweight people tracking system. SenseFlow utilises off-the-shelf wireless sensing nodes which sniff probe requests periodically polled by user's mobile devices for Wi-Fi connection. We demonstrate the feasibility of SenseFlow by building a proof-of-concept prototype and undertaking extensive evaluations in real-world settings. Secondly, a Renewable WSN is developed to monitor localised weather and spatial-temporal usage of a certain urban space. The data from SenseFlow and the RWSN is analysed to provide urban space utilisation and residents' mobility.
