IEEE 802.15.6 MAC OverviewCISTER, Porto, Portugal
ABSTRACT:
IEEE 802.15.6 facilitates communication in the vicinity of or inside a human body to serve a variety of medical, consumer electronics and entertainment applications. This talk first highlights the most important features of IEEE 802.15.6 MAC protocol. It then presents the throughput and delay performance of this protocol for ideal and lossy channel conditions. Analytical and simulation-based methods are used to derive the throughput and delay limits for different frequency bands and data rates. These limits are used for network provisioning and packet size optimization.
