Reflective Monitoring using the POSIX Trace in MaRTEOS
Ref: HURRAY-TR-050903 Publication Date: 1, Sep, 2005Abstract:
The objective of this document is to analyze and discuss the work done on the MaRTE OS operating system, to integrate a subset of the POSIX trace mechanism for reflective monitoring. The current MaRTE kernel does not support all the features needed to implement a full POSIX complaint trace mechanism. However, for the Minimum Real-Time Systems profile, a full implementation is not required, and thus, the system developer is forced to develop a new trace interface or to use a POSIX trace subset. Very often, developers choose to create a new interface since it might be easier to code and design. The POSIX trace is considered a monolithic feature and usually can not be broken is smaller yet highly functional pieces.
